Beautiful aircraft. I've had the privilege of seeing her in action at Oshkosh the last few years. If you get a chance to get up close, take a look at the engines. They're individually named.

I got to see FIFI back in October. The B-29 is an awesome plane! It was at an air show. It took off and landed several times along with other cool planes like the B-17 and P-51.

I love that sound. This field also hosts Paul Allen's personal collection and he's usually got the Spit or the Mustang up.

I'll be sure to look for that.

Outstanding. I thought Fifi was still grounded. Glad to see it's in the air again.

Now try to imagine the sound of over 400 B-29s in the air at the same time. That was a pretty common number towards the end of the war. However, on the 1st of the August, 1945, 836 B-29s staged the largest single raid of World War II, dropping 6,145 tons of bombs and mines.

I would love to see this in person. My cousin is a pilot for the Confederate Air Force and flies the B-17, but this would be great. My father also was air crew on a B-17 and very briefly I believe a B-29, but that was about 60 years ago or so...

Edit: The largest single B-29 raid of the war.

There's not many pilots left. Yet we still have the old birds out flying.

just saw her circle over north Seattle. I expect to see her do a few more laps. Memorial day had laps by a B17 and several other warbirds.

I'm in Bothell and I could hear over my lawn mower. Amazing!

The B29 and B17 pilots are indeed dwindling fast. My grandfather started on 17's and moved to the pacific campaign in a 29 in january '45, but he did manage to live on through last october. all the other pilots he knew were already dead.

FIFI! I saw her at Thunder over Michigan two years ago. 'Twas the greatest birthday gift I got that year! :)

I'm picking my dad up in about an hour to go check her out. I'll get some potato pics.

I saw her almost ten years ago at World War II Weekend at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum in Reading PA. She was a static display, but man it was cool to see a B-29. There's another B-29 undergoing restoration for flight. I forget her name.
